Understanding of Rules and Use

  • To protect the fragile disturbed soils, almost all visits will be conducted by foot and backpack. NO WHEELED VEHICLES (except for landowner maintenance vehicles) ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRAIL.

  • Water, hats, long pants, sunscreen, insect repellent, and closed-toed shoes are recommended.

  • Take out what you bring in. DO NOT COLLECT SOUVENIRS FROM THE TRAIL. Instead, we encourage photographs.

  • Do not approach any animals on the trail. Please leave your pets at home.  NO PETS ARE ALLOWED ON THE TRAIL.

  • NO GUNS OR HUNTING.

  • A composting toilet is available at the trail entrance.

  • There is limited parking – carpooling is encouraged for tour groups.

  • There is NO ENTRANCE WITHOUT RESERVATION.

  • Comply with any other posted rules and additional instructions given by the hosts, your guide, or any other walk/event staff.

Your compliance with these rules will ensure the continued availability of the Walk to others.

Understanding of Risks

Visitors understand that there are potential risks and hazards associated with the 2.2 mile round trip Walk the Rancheria Grande trail. Cedar Hill Nature Preserve trails include bodies of water, topography changes, falling/fallen timber, ruts and holes; and plant and animal wildlife that may include poison oak, snakes, feral hogs, biting and stinging insects, coyotes, bobcats, and more. The Baumann Ranch is improved pasture that contains all of the above but also cattle. Visitors must understand that there are risks in driving, riding in or on, or being around motor vehicles including ATVs and tractors; and that these risks are increased due to the topography of both ranches.

Agritourism Liability

I UNDERSTAND AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AN AGRITOURISM ENTITY IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY TO OR DEATH OF AN AGRITOURISM PARTICIPANT RESULTING FROM AGRITOURISM ACTIVITIES. I UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE ACCEPTED ALL RISK OF INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND OTHER LOSS THAT MAY RESULT FROM AGRITOURISM ACTIVITIES. (PER TEXAS LAW: CHAPTER 75A, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE).
