Cedar Hill Nature Preserve is an approximately 700-acre heavily wooded natural area
in Post Oak Savannah in Milam County, Texas.
Pin Oak Creek and Alligator Creek cut through the property. The owners have been managing the land since 2003 under the Texas Wildlife Management Program. Their primary goal is to restore the land by removing exotic plant and animal species using a Bobcat, tractor, and manual labor. They have partnered with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, U.S Fish & Wildlife Service, Native Prairies Association of Texas, Bastrop County, and the U.S. Department of the Interior for training, financial assistance, and manpower to thin the yaupon understory, create winding trails honeycombed with open plots and large open meadows, remove exotic plant and animal species, and later sow with native seed to encourage a healthy diversity of plant and animal life.

At Cedar Hill Nature Preserve, our mission is to restore and improve the land as a natural area that can be studied and enjoyed by many.
Currently, we are working with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department biologists to restore 140 acres to create habitat for the endangered
Houston Toad.
